Career Lieutenant Christopher James Hunter of Cinnaminson, N.J. died suddenly on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, in the line of duty. He was 38. is the first Cinnaminson firefighter to die in the line of duty since 1968.
He was a 22-year member of the Cinnaminson Fire Dept. He first joined the department as a junior firefighter while still in high school. He became a career firefighter with the department in 1998.
Among his career accomplishments, Hunter received a meritorious service award from the 200 Club of Burlington County in 2004 for his role in rescuing an Alzheimer’s patient from a burning apartment in Delran.
