Katrina Smith was a beautiful woman, person, and friend.

I had the honor of serving in the children’s ministry at my church with Katrina. When I first met her, I thought that she was rather quiet and reserved, but I soon found out that once I got to know her, she was really outgoing and funny.

Katrina loved children, although she hadn’t yet had the opportunity to have her own. Our love for the kids and our passion for organizing things was our connection.

Although we were not friends who talked long hours on the phone or even did much outside the walls of the church, I will always cherish the time spent with her serving with the kids, beating one another at facebook games, and chatting back and forth now and then when things were newsworthy or life was hard. Machesney Park, IL.

Katrina took beautiful pictures of people. She was able to capture them in marvelous ways on film. She was equally beautiful in front of the camera… her smile lit up any room.

Katrina, I am grateful for your life and the time I got to spend with you.

I am also grateful that, in death, you have helped me understand and begin to come to terms with other losses in my life.

Thank you, my friend. I know I will see you again someday when I get to where you are.

Until then, I pray to live my life well as you did.
