Doug was the most brilliant man I’ve ever met.

He was a ‘Renaissance’ man – a genius with classical music art and literature. He was an accomplished anthropologist and later attorney.

He had a dry sense of humor but appreciated humor in all forms. One of his favorite movies is The Big Lebowski and he particularly loved the line” the dude abides” He loved books and his wealth of knowledge of the classics was amazing.

He had a difficult life as a child and endured many hardships.
My fervent wish and hope is that he found some level of peace with me that he didn’t have before.

He was my best friend and understood all the trials and tribulations I faced as a social worker. I loved him then and I love him now.
