Emilio James Liberator (Libby) began his career in public service as a volunteer with the Roebling Fire Co., in Florence 1971 at the age of 16, before moving to Burlington Township. From there he served in many organizations, both as a volunteer and as a career.
He was a dispatcher for the NJ State Police, the Beverly Police Department, the Burlington Township Police Department, and for Burlington County Central Communications. He also worked for the Burlington Township Police as a Special Officer and in a variety of other capacities.
Libby was a Past Fire Chief and Life Member of the Burlington Township Fire Department and the Beverly Road Fire Co., a member of the Delran Fire Co. No. 1, where he was currently serving as Vice President; he was a Burlington County Fire Coordinator and the current President of the NJ State Judges Association.
He was also a member of the Delran Emergency Squad, a member of the Lake Harmony (PA) Fire Co., a Past-President of the Burlington County Fire Chief’s Association, a member of the Roebling Fire Co., the Endeavor Emergency Squad, and
the Beverly Emergency Squad.
He was a brilliant chief, leader and remarkable friend to each person there has been never a terrible word said.
He clearly left a hollow in the world together with his passing.
We have lost a true hero.
