How do I Answer?

“How are you?”

Oh, God, what do I say?
Am I honest? Do I brush it away?
Do you really want to know—
Or do you want a quick answer so you can go?
If I’m honest, then what do I choose to say?
All of it? Some of it?
How I am this moment or this day?
I simultaneously want to be seen
And want to disappear
Please go away—
Please stay near.
I feel so crazy and empty and scared
What is the point? Who’s left to care?
If I shut myself off, it’s a silent hell
But, if I’m honest and you walk away
That is worse still.
The truth is, I want to die
But, I want to live, too—but am not sure why
The truth is, I’m confused
I’m trying to find my way.
So, I take a deep breath
And utter the words–

“I am okay”.

When We Love

WHEN WE LOVE

When we love
We give away a part of our soul
That is filled by those
Who love us back…and those that don’t

When we love
We open our hearts
For air and light
To help it grow

When we love
The more air and light
The more roots go down deep
Into our being

When we love
And our love is ripped away
We keep on giving it
Anyway

When we love
The one that is gone
Part of us is filled by their presence
But the hole left behind aches from the absence

When we love
The One who created us all
He soothes the empty spaces
And whispers back to us, “You are still loved.”

My Mask Every morning I wake up

My Mask

My Mask

Every morning I wake up and put on a mask,
the mask makes everything seem alright,
But they don’t know I cry at night,
The nightmares just won’t go away
If only I knew it was your last day
For six years I’ve felt this pain
The feeling just won’t go away,
Everyone thinks I’ve dealt with your death the best, but without this mask, I’d be a mess.

Do not let anyone judge you

Do not let anyone judge
Do not let anyone judge you, or underestimate what you are going through.
They cannot understand the Storms inside your soul.
It is okay to cry, grieve, hurt and FEEL.
Feeling is Healing.
How can you heal what you refuse to confront.
Melt downs are okay. Crying when you need to is okay.
Needing to be held and comforted is okay.
It doesn’t mean you are weak or selfish.
It means you are Strong enough to accept and acknowledge what you feel.
Feel what you need to. Let the Storm pass, and breathe in the purity of Courage.
The knowing that you CAN cope with this.
Everything will be okay. You CAN you do it and you WILL.
Life is full of Miracles. Never give up hope and believing in all the goodness that is there.
Hold to that thought – Think Positive – and you will see your whole Life begin to change.
Be Strong Beautiful.
Just because it’s Stormy Now;
Doesn’t mean you’re not headed for Sunshine ♥
